鈴木 阿以 （すずき あい）
学生時代を日本と欧米で過ごした彼女の作品の中には、異文化がミックスし生まれたユニークな視線が見られる。ロンドンのセントラルセントマーチンズにて4年間ジュエリーデザインを学び、卒業後は東京にてファッション業界の仕事に携わる。同時にアッシュペーフランスを中心とした企業の販促物制作に関わりフリーランスのイラストレーターとしての活動を開始。誕生石をモチーフにした12枚のメッセージカードは、彼女のミステリアスな世界を垣間見ることができる。その後、ELLE JaponやCREA、Figaro等の女性ファッション誌を中心にイラストを提供し、近年、初の著書である「大人のぬり絵本・不思議の国のアリス」を出版。彼女の独特な世界観は、主にインクを用いた手描きの線と水彩や色鉛筆、パステルなどを使用した色付けから生まれる。2017年、自身のジュエリーブランド「ポエティーク・ビジュー」を立ち上げ、デザインと制作、ディレクションのすべてを手掛ける。彼女の作るジュエリーもイラストと同じ、ハンドメイドの不完全さが生み出す女性のセンチメンタルなムードと、やさしい思いを表現した詩的な雰囲気が特徴。都会と自然の両方の生活を行き来する中で、様々なディテールやテクスチャーにインスパイアされながら彼女が表現したいのは、そこに物語が始まるような雰囲気を残した作品。そして、その話の続きは見る者の自由な想像に委ねている。
AI SUZUKI
Ai grew up and educated in Japan, Europe and USA, her background with a mixture of different cultures give her a unique approach to her art and creation. She studied Jewellery Design at Central Saint Martins in London as to pursue her passion for carving and craft making, and after graduated she returned to Japan and worked several years in fashion industries in Tokyo. Meanwhile, she started to offer her drawings to one of the major retail company such as H.P.FRANCE for their promotional products including the set of message cards of 12 birth-stones. Ai has worked on a series of fashion magazines including ELLE, CREA and madame FIGARO, and her first colouring book "Alice in Wonderland" was published recently in Japan. Mainly using the traditional Indian ink, her unique vision spreads with colours with water colours, colour pencils and pastels etc..
Ai also started her own jewellery label "POETIQUE bijoux", for which each piece is exclusively designed and handmade by her at her small studio in Tokyo. Like her illustration, her jewellery leaves the aesthetics of imperfect lines made by handmade conveying the soft enthusiasm and sentimental mood hidden behind the womanhood.
Ai finds her inspiration in a wide range of places both in city and nature, the details and the textures found at the every corners capture her curious mind. Ai tries to emphasize in her work to create the atmosphere where the story begin to tell its story and lead us to complete the the rest of the tale.
